Environmental Conservation — Tree Planting in Kiambu County Schools
The Maina Karobia Foundation is a passionate advocate for environmental stewardship.
Understanding that the health of our communities is inseparable from the health of our natural
environment, the foundation spearheaded a large-scale tree planting initiative around schools in
Kiambu county. The campaign resulted in the planting of over 3,000 trees, transforming school
environments into greener, more conducive spaces for learning. Conducted in the spirit of Kenya's Mazingira Day, the initiative brought together students, teachers,
and community members in a collective act of environmental responsibility. Beyond the immediate
ecological benefits, the exercise served as a powerful civic education moment, instilling in the
younger generation a sense of ownership over their natural heritage and a commitment to its preservation.
